Dr. Roger William Lomax (b. 1881) Lynchburg Physician

Born in Buckingham County, Dr. Roger W. Lomax practiced in Lynchburg beginning in 1909 and continuing until the mid-1940s. His offices were at 900 Fifth Street and 1307 Floyd Street. Dr. Lomax received his training at Leonard Medical College of Shaw University in Raleigh, North Carolina, graduating in 1907. He was a member of the Hill City Medical Society. This Lynchburg group was affiliated with the National Medical Society, founded in 1895 to serve the interests of black physicians.
