With regret and deep appreciation for her devotion and hard work, the Board of the Legacy Project accepted the resignation of Thelma Mundy in December.
Ms. Mundy served tirelessly as museum administrator from August of 1999 until January of 2003. Her moral and material contributions have been crucial to the success of the Museum. In addition to running the office and conducting dynamic tours of the exhibits, she worked closely with the Chamber of Commerce, the City of Lynchburg, and the Museum’s good neighbor, the Old City Cemetery, to promote the Lynchburg area as well as the Museum. In addition, she opened the doors of the Museum to numerous civic organizations that found it a convenient and comfortable place to hold special meetings.
Thelma resigned for personal reasons, but her heart is still with the Museum. As she said on leaving, “I’ll be just around the corner.”
