20 for 20 Campaign!

The Board of Directors of the Legacy Museum of African American History continues to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Legacy Museum of African American History. Legacy is Central Virginia’s first museum dedicated to preserving the history and culture of local African Americans.

The Legacy Project, first sponsored by the Lynchburg NAACP, was incorporated as a non-profit organization in 1995. In 1998, with community support on every level, renovation began on an old Victorian house in the historical neighborhood of Tinbridge Hill. In 2000, the Legacy Museum of African American History opened its first feature exhibition.

To commemorate this special anniversary, we invite you to join Legacy in raising funds for the museum’s future success. Your tax-deductible donation will continue to help us make a difference, preserve our history, and offer quality programs to the community.
